The wall is a period when the value of a given person significantly decreases in relation to the entire market. In American football - let's take the NFL (National Football League) and you can say that the average player hits the "wall" around the age of 30. This means that once a player turns 30, you will rarely see his "best days" as a player. Their form is declining, so no NFL team is willing to pay top dollar for them because they'd rather pay for a fresher player who has more energy in his tank.
